AMAZON.COM US · EXPORT TUTORIAL

How to export Amazon product data

To download product data from Amazon, open the product in your browser. SKUGrab saves available details in local JSON, with a source URL and capture time for checking the snapshot.

1. Inspect and export one Amazon product

  1. Install and enable the site once

    Install SKUGrab from Chrome Web Store, then open an Amazon.com detail page. In the extension popup, click Open export controls and grant requested site access. The toolbar then appears automatically on enabled supported pages.

  2. Check the current specification

    Choose a color or size on Amazon and wait for the update. Click More → Preview variants in SKUGrab. Compare specifications, ASINs and prices with the page; unobserved combinations may be absent.

  3. Choose a file or a local record

    Export JSON downloads a product-named file. Collect product saves to Product library without downloading. Direct exports also save the collected record locally first.

2. Understand the Amazon fields

Identity and description
id is the source ASIN; url links back to it. title and available feature bullets or description are text. An ASIN identifies a catalog item, not a seller SKU.
Prices
price is a decimal string with currency, such as "24.99" and "USD". Unknown prices stay null; ranges and installment amounts are not substituted. Always check currency.
Specifications and variants
options holds loaded labels and values; variants holds the current selection and observed sibling ASINs. A color list does not establish every color–size combination. Seller SKU and stock quantities are unavailable.
Images and time
images contains URLs, not image files. capturedAt records capture time, not a guarantee of current prices or working image links.

3. Select a loaded list for one ZIP

On a supported search or product list, click Batch selection to expand and scan. Select products on their images, or use Select all loaded. After loading more cards, click Scan product cards again. Selection is capped at 100; there is no automatic pagination.

Click Download selected · ZIP. SKUGrab reads products in temporary detail tabs, closes those tabs, and requests SKUGrab_YYYYMMDD_HHmmss.zip with one JSON per included product. Keep the browser open; check download completion and any skipped-product count.

4. Read a JSON snapshot

Illustrative full schema-v1 record with every field shown. Product, identifiers, image URL, timestamp and values are fictional, not a real capture.

  "platform": "amazon",
  "id": "B0DEMO0001",
  "url": "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DEMO0001",

    }
  ],

      "id": "B0DEMO0001",
      "sku": null,
      "title": "Blue",
      "options": {
        "Color": "Blue"

      "price": "24.99",

  "completeness": {
    "level": "partial",
    "notes": [
      "Illustrative snapshot: other variant combinations and stock quantities are unknown."
    ]
  }
}

Here, options lists Blue and Black, but variants records only Blue: Black has no verified variant row. sku: null is expected for an inaccessible seller SKU. available: null means unknown, not out of stock. completeness.level: partial and its notes explain why this is not a complete variant catalog.

5. Check the export before reuse

  • Match id, title and url to the intended Amazon.com product.
  • Compare the selected specification and price with the source; inspect null variant prices.
  • Read completeness.notes before combining options or calculating a comparison.
  • Open Product library → View details to inspect JSON and variants; search saved products by title or ID.

Select saved records and click Export JSON / ZIP: one record downloads JSON, multiple records download ZIP, using the same allowance. Recollecting an ASIN replaces its saved record; retain exported files for history. Product data stays in your browser and downloads; SKUGrab does not upload it.

If collection or download fails

For a missing toolbar, reopen the extension popup and enable the site; check site permission. For missing cards, load products and rescan, or try a supported detail page. Refresh partially loaded pages before retrying.

Login or CAPTCHA pages stop collection. Complete the normal website process; SKUGrab does not bypass it. Check browser downloads before retrying a failed export. Background restarts do not resume batches automatically. Report public URLs and extension/browser versions to support.

Amazon export FAQ

Can I download Amazon product data as CSV or Excel?

Current downloads are JSON and ZIP containing JSON. CSV / Excel support is planned; it is not available in this workflow.

Does this include all variants and inventory?

No. Observed sibling ASINs may be partial; missing combinations, availability and stock quantities are not inferred.

Is this an Amazon seller catalog export?

It reads available public product-page data. It does not access Seller Central, export private seller SKUs or provide continuous price tracking.
